Alasdair Gray

2026

Editorial illustrations for the Alasdair Gray archives, telling the stories behind three Glasgow murals.

This project was in collaboration with the Alasdair Gray archives in Glasgow. The illustrations were created using dip pen and then digitally colouring them. Alasdair Gray was a prominent Scottish artist who had a huge influence over the city. He painted multiple murals around the city, some still open to the public today. Research material from the archives informed the finals, which show the timeline and stories of how Alasdair Gray created the murals.
